Your door and your shutters are some great features where you can add a pop of color. If there’s just one flowering tree that has a vibrant red flower, but the rest of your landscape is filled with yellow, green and pink, matching that vibrant red might be a great choice. It pulls in the design of the landscape without overwhelming the look with too much of the same color.
Keep the Trim a Lighter Tint
Whether you decide to stay with the same color for the trim, or use a different color, be sure it’s a lighter tint. That allows the trim to stand out, adding a measure of depth to your home. White is always a dramatic look for any home with any landscape, but you could also go with a very light gray or tan if that’s the color palette for your home and yard.
